Show transcript0:02All right, this is my hard drive clock. It uses this slot cut into the drive to spin it, and lights underneath light it up as it goes, making clock patterns and anything else.0:13So, let's spin it up here and see what we got.0:27This is the test pattern that I have. This shows the 8 colors, including black, that you can make with the red, green, and blue LEDs.0:35So let's switch it to clock mode.0:38And here we have second, hour, and minute hand, and a 60th of a second hand.0:44And it also makes the small little, uh, divisions you can see there.0:51Another mode it has is0:55this one here, where it adds the colors in as it spins. So you kind of have to remember which color is which to figure out what time it is.1:12And back to the test pattern, I can change1:18how many, uh, divisions there are.1:50You can see it times the spin of the disc to, uh, decide when to turn the colors on and off, so I can actually slow it down, and it stays relatively stable to very low speed.2:12This is a 5400 RPM drive, so it's spinning at about 90 times a second.2:25Another little color pattern I have.2:35And that's it for the demo.2:38Now I do have a LCD I put in here for displaying various things, showing various information on the drive, it's spinning at, uh, 5400 RPM.2:51And that's it.
