I'm sitting here right now with 2 very special Boy Scouts, Zach Hannaford and Brian Seitz of Troop 128 in Whitehall, New York.0:18They've decided to take on the challenge of promoting the early detection of breast cancer.0:24Wow, guys, thanks so much for joining us. Tell me everything about your project.0:30Uh, well, in order to get our Eagle Scout badge, we needed to do a s- community service project, and we talked it over, and we thought that we'd do, uh, help women do their breast exams.0:40Wow. Now, you must have done a lot of research.0:43Definitely.0:43Yeah.0:44Uh.0:44We looked all over the internet0:45Yeah.0:45to find great websites.0:47I think we're seeing some of them now.0:49Oh yeah, these ones are really good.0:50Yeah, the information can be pretty confusing, though, so women should always ask us for help.0:55Definitely.0:56You've even put together your own website, is that right?0:59Yeah, uh, my older brother Ted's our advisor, and he knows how to put together websites, so he helped us put our own.1:06It lists your phone number, so that's a good way for people to get in contact with you, right?1:09Uh-huh.1:10Yeah.1:10They can call us, and we'll go to their house anytime.1:13Well, so how's your program going to work? I mean, where do you plan to do these exams?1:17Uh, well, I think we're probably going to do them in my basement.1:21Well, it's not, his basement's not really like a basement basement.1:25It has a carpet, and it's like a1:27So it's finished.1:28Well, now I've been told that the key to a good self-breast examination is making them a regular part of your normal routine, right?1:35And that way you get to know your breasts and, and can recognize any changes.1:39Now, I like to do mine when I'm in the shower.1:41Yeah, okay.1:42But I understand you can also lie on your bed?1:44Uh, yeah, yeah, definitely, uh-huh.1:47I am kind of worried about my own technique, though. Can you show us how to do a good breast exam?1:52Uh, well, you first, you know, you kind of have to, like, look around and, like, feel for the lump.2:01The lump.2:02I imagine you have to disrobe.2:03Uh-huh.2:04Yeah.2:04Yeah, and then you've got to, like, you got to, like, feel for the bump, if there is one.2:10And2:10You go in circles.2:11Yeah.2:12Okay, so there are different techniques then, is that right, Brian?2:15Yeah, you got to squeeze the nipple to make sure it doesn't feel irregular in the nipple, to make sure.2:21Wow, I'm amazed.2:23Yeah.2:23Yeah.2:23You should come over.
