Billy Mays joins an office team, interrupts coworkers, gets caught engraving his name on a water bottle, and rescues a presentation with absorbent pads.
Show transcript0:01 When ERA asked Live Marshall to explain the awards judging this year, we knew it was the ultimate challenge. 0:06 I really want to do here, and here's my idea, right? 0:08 If you've seen the Oscars, you know this as the legal portion of the show. 0:12 Others may know it as the boring part. We had the impossible task of developing a plan that gives people the information without putting them to sleep. 0:21 I got nothing else. 0:23 We knew there was only one man for the job, so we hired him. 0:28 Right now, I'm going to give them... I don't want you to know. 0:30 Oh, OK, great. 0:31 Yeah. 0:32 Uh, power juicer, yes. 0:36 Yes, he's been talking. 0:38 Good morning, everyone. 0:39 Can I have your attention, everyone? Let me introduce you to our newest employee. 0:42 Hi, Billy Mays here. Good to meet you. It's Billy Mays. 0:45 Here. 0:45 Hey, how you doing? Hey, I'm working with you all day. Hi, Billy Mays here. 0:50 Hey, can't wait. Sorry to interrupt, Ty. Hi, love your hat. Billy May's here. 0:54 Hey, big guy, can't wait to work with... Oh, I'll tell you what, I got a job. 0:59 Can't wait to get to work. Hey, let's go. 1:01 In hindsight, making Billy part of the team was probably a mistake. 1:07 I'm not sure Billy's ever worked in an office. 1:18 Hey, Billy. 1:18 Hey. 1:18 How's it going, man? 1:19 How you doing? Good to see you. Hey, uh, what are you doing there? 1:23 Nothing, just hydrating. 1:24 Nothing but water. 1:25 Yeah. 1:26 Yeah. 1:26 You sure you weren't just engraving your name on there? 1:28 No. 1:29 The, uh, engrave it. 1:30 No, no. 1:31 No. 1:31 No. What are you talking about? 1:33 Just observation. 1:35 Yeah. 1:35 Yeah, I'll see you at lunch. 1:36 Right. 1:42 I just caught Billy Mays engraving his name on Live Marshall property, and the best part of it was it said Billy Mays was her, so I don't think he quite finished. 2:20 Good meeting. 2:21 Yeah. 2:21 Hey, good talking to you. You know what? We'll get the reports done, and let's get out of here, okay? 2:26 Don't get me wrong, it wasn't all that bad. There was this one time that Billy really saved us. 2:32 All right. So in conclusion, my idea, the rake and bake. 2:39 It rakes, it bakes, I think it's a shame. 2:47 Relax, relax. I always carry my Zorbees. Look at this. 2:52 Just happen to have them in my back pocket. Look at this. It picks up everything. 2:57 Look at this, coffee, tea, milk. 3:02 You know what? I'm gonna put that right back in your glass. Look at that. 3:06 Oh my goodness. 3:12 Johnny. 3:13 You're the man, Billy. 3:14 Back to the rake and bake. 3:15 All right. 3:17 That said, we really didn't know what to expect when Billy presented his idea for the ceremony speech. 3:23 And then we decided to take a poll. 3:26 That's what she said. Billy, tell me what you did for ERA. 3:29 Well, Johnny, I know you wanted to come up with something totally different, and I've been working on this for months. 3:35 I think you're gonna like it. Are you ready? 3:37 I'm ready. 3:40 Here it is. 3:47 Is that a bedazzled ERA award? 3:51 Yes. 3:58 I love it! 3:59 I knew it, I knew it! 4:01 High five! 4:02 Yeah, good job! 4:03 Yes. 4:04 Good job, Billy. Nice job. 4:06 I knew I could pull it off. 4:08 He did it. He really came through, and that's why he's the best. 4:14 He comes in, he does his job, and he doesn't leave till he's done. 4:18 Of course, it wasn't till later we realized that we still have to actually tell the audience the judging process. 4:24 Unfortunately, we couldn't get Billy back to the office, so we had to do it by phone. 4:29 We hope you like it. 4:33 Awards are voted on by a group of volunteer peers. In addition to a record number of entries this year, we had a record number of judges throughout the US and our international community. 4:43 These judges narrow entries down to finalists and select a winner in each category. 4:48 No one is allowed to judge a category where they have submitted an entry. 4:52 Also, for the very first time, a greener approach to the distribution of content was undertaken, as all content was reviewed by 5:00 By judges exclusively online. All votes are tabulated by the accounting firm of William Stearns McClellan and Associates, PC, and nobody knows who the winners are except for the person who licked the envelopes. 5:13 And if you're a Seinfeld fan, you know what happened to her.
