Show transcript0:00Here, uh, called anime. That's the super popular form of Japanese cartoons.0:05Now, of course, they're, uh, you know, made in Japan, but, uh, most of the anime movies are then voiced over in English in a studio here in Los Angeles, and someone told us that the studio was not far from where we make this show here at Universal,0:22just a couple of blocks away. So Andy and I thought maybe we should check it out and see what this whole Japanese anime thing is all about, and we did.0:30Here's what happened.0:33Okay, this is a company where they, uh, do the voiceovers for Japanese anime films.0:39It's called Bang Zoom.0:42Okay, so some sort of merger.0:43Merger. These company- it was inevitable0:45Yeah.0:45these companies would get together, but, uh, probably a fantastic place to work.0:50We thought we'd go inside and help out.0:51Right. Never can make enough money.0:54We're not getting paid.0:55Oh.0:55Yes.0:56I work for Manga Entertainment, and actually BangZoom, the studios here dub most of our titles, like Ghost in the Shell, actually the title that we're working on now, as well as Gurren Lagann and a couple of others on the Animonday block.1:08I don't know if you guys watch any anime, um, on the Sci-Fi Channel.1:11You know bobbleheads?1:13Yes.1:14These are a specific type of version of that.1:17These are bobble breasts?1:18Yes.1:19In the event of an earthquake, do- does everyone from the studio rush out here to watch?1:23Oh yeah. Oh yeah.1:26Kevin, these posters are, uh, quite impressive. I guess these are all for different movies.1:30We should raise money. Her skirt, I just feel bad.1:32Yeah, I feel bad.1:33She doesn't have quite enough skirt here.1:35Right, right.1:36What are we doing today?1:37Uh, today we're going to be, uh, recording your voices to Ghost in the Shell.1:41Tell us the plot to Ghost in the Shell.1:43Sure. So the plot, uh, to Ghost in the Shell follows a cyber agent, uh, actually an android and- and developed, uh, inhabited by a ghost, a consciousness, a human consciousness transferred into an android created by,1:57uh, uh, the puppet master, which is a computer virus, or, uh, you- you could say a ghost of its own.2:07Right.2:08Okay. I don't- I didn't- I have to say I didn't understand the plot that you just said.2:12Yeah.2:12At all.2:13So when the manga logo comes up, we'd like you to both go manga.2:16All right.2:17Right on the beeps.2:20Manga.2:20Manga.2:22Excellent. Take a little bit more time, stretch it out a little bit, really chew on it.2:26Manga.2:32I hurt my foot.2:34Oh, that's pretty good.2:36Life has become more complex in the overwhelming sea of information.2:40Wait, that's a girl.2:41He looks, no, that's a, that's a, that's2:43That's a girl, that's a girl.2:45of it, he has these many forms.2:48I would jump that. That's a girl. As a director, you should tell me when I'm a girl.2:53You're a guy. He's just a guy with breasts.2:56A guy with breasts who's a ghost.2:58Yeah.2:58This is Hollywood.3:01We should get some sound, some fight sound effects.3:03Yeah.3:07And that's just the bathroom scene.3:11All right, so the first line is off camera, so here we go.3:13Okay. Well, what if it was Paul Lynde? Can we do it as Paul Lynde?3:17We'll do the next one as Paul Lynde at3:19Okay.3:1938. We'll see how it works.3:22Wow, the breach and the barrel are really screwed up. That's what happens when you use HP bullets in one of those things.3:28Oh yeah.3:30At what point does Andy sing Rock Lobster?3:34Down, down, followed by a narwhal. It's as big as a whale, and it's about to set sail.3:43Whatever the Foreign Ministry wishes, this falls within Section 9's jurisdiction.3:48Of course, we have no objection to cooperating if we feel there's adequate cause.3:53Huh?3:55Just a little smaller, just kind of3:57What?3:57A little more to yourself there.3:58A robot with boobs just came to life.4:01Yeah.4:01And you want me to go smaller? No one with a wallet should be ever interrupted.4:32Your neighbors have informed us that you have fish here. Fish that are hungry.4:38Fish that haven't been fed in days, days they haven't been fed.4:42That's ridiculous. I tried to feed them, but it's expensive.4:45I tried to feed them kelp.4:47Ah!4:48Yes, and also shrimp. Once I even ground some hamburger, and I put that in, but it just made a mess, and it made my hands stink.4:54It's hard to feed fish. It's ridiculous. I wish I had a cat.4:58Cats are easy to feed. I wish.5:00I had a cat.5:00They have weekend feeders now. They last for days.5:03They say they last for days, but they don't. It's absurd. I'm going to adjust my tie and tell you again.5:08What the?
