Show transcript0:02What did you, uh, what did you do during the big blizzard, Max?0:05Oh, shoveled and shoveled.0:06Right, right.0:07Oh.0:08Yeah.0:10You tell quite a story, old man.0:13I'm too tired to talk.0:14That's a real corker. Save that for your great, great grandchildren.0:18What did you do? I shoveled and shoveled. Oh, we're gonna go now.0:24We'll see you later.0:27Uh, it was amazing. I don't know if you're like the re- I'm like, I become a child when you start snowing that hard.0:33I mean, obviously it creates problems, and it ties up the transportation system, and not everybody loves it.0:39I love it. I start, and and I watch the news, and I'm one of those people that they say we've got 20 inches, but they've got 25 inches over here, and I get competitive.0:48I'm like, come on, come on, let's get more, let's get more. I just loved it.0:51I just wanted it to keep snowing and snowing and snowing, and, uh, I think yesterday the final tally was 20, 20 inches in Central Park.1:01I think, uh, JFK Airport had like 25 inches. Um, Staten Island had over 50 feet of snow.1:10But I think they trucked it over there for some reason. They cheated.1:14But anyway, it was a big blizzard, uh, the biggest blizzard anybody can remember for a long time, and uh, I was here at the office, and I was wa- looking out the window, and I was watching this whole thing happen yesterday,1:25and I said, I gotta get out there. I have to experience this blizzard, and I have to take a camera crew with me and just experience it.1:33This was against the advice of my physician, uh, and all my loved ones.1:38They're like, don't do it, and I was, and I said, for my viewers, I must.1:43And...1:46and... because let me tell you something.1:50Because those are 9 people that deserve the best. So, so I took my camera crew, and we went out into the blizzard and, uh, just, uh, experienced, uh, that, that incredible time.2:01Take a look.2:03They're calling it the worst blizzard in 50 years. Some say the worst blizzard in 100 years.2:08One really old guy says it's the worst blizzard in 400 years, but we think he's lying.2:14Anyway, it's incredible. Take a look.2:16Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful, and since we've no place to go, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.2:31Sir, I'm going to speak to you. Hold on. Oh, hey, how are you?2:35Fine.2:36Do you want me to shovel and you can take a break? I'll do it.2:38No, that's all right. That's all right. No, no, no, no, no, no, no.2:43You do this all the time or your part time?2:45I'm new at this.2:46Oh yes, I can tell now.2:47How come, uh, you have to use a shovel, but your friend gets to drive around in that little buggy?2:58As you can see, they've made a, a giant, uh, snow mountain right here.3:02It's pretty amazing. That's, I- I'm not very good at guessing, but I think that's, that's about 60 feet high.3:07I think that's probably about 900 tons of snow. And, um, what's your name, sir?3:12Come on and step in here. What's your name?3:13Uh, James.3:14James, where are you from?3:15Ohio.3:16Okay. Hey, a lot of snow, huh?3:18Yeah, a lot.3:20That's usually where the conversation ends. Did you, uh, see that giant snow mountain up there?3:24I did notice that, yes.3:25Have you ever played King of the Hill?3:27Uh, yes, when I was younger.3:28Basically, one person gets up to the top and the other tries to throw him off.3:31You want to try that right now?3:32For sure.3:32Oh look, there's someone else up there too. That's great. It's- there's gonna be a Starbucks up there in about 5 minutes.3:52Right here we see probably the greatest tragedy of today's blizzard, a bicycle completely encased in snow.3:58That's some Chinese food that will not be delivered this evening.4:02For Channel 4 News, this is Maurice Dubois. Back to you, Staros.4:31That was very homoerotic. Try harder, you gotta try harder. You're not, put your back into it, you sons of bitches.4:39Everyone remain calm, I have a shovel. Everybody stay calm. Someone go get cocoa.4:44Okay.4:45Tell me which way you're headed, and I, and I'll clear your path.4:48Megan, that's for you, you walk that part.4:49All right, thank you.4:51Now I'm going to create a little turnaround area in case you want to turn around and come back the other way.4:58Now turn around and go back that way.5:00There you go. Oh, that's nice.5:02Very nice.5:03That's nice.5:04I did that for you.5:05Is this the most snow you've ever seen?5:07No, I told you 1930. I was born in 1922. It was, uh, almost, let's see, the horses fell on the street.5:15It was 2 stories high.5:16What were the horses doing running around on their own?5:18No, it wasn't running around. They was doing, uh, work on the streets, and if a horse died, the sanitation worker carried a gun and shot him in the head, and they threw him in each river.5:27Wait, if the horse died, why did he have to shoot him in the head?5:30Not in5:30So a guy was walking around shooting-5:32Broke a leg, he broke a leg, man. You're not listening to me.5:36We see a man who's clearly lost his mind. They're s- looking for him right now at the sanitarium.5:41You think he's being clever, but he was out here in July doing that.5:43He had a pinwheel hat on. There he goes. Look at him, prancing all the way.5:49This is not compared to that when I was born5:51When you were a kid, there was5:52that time when I was a kid.5:54There was feet of snow, there was like a lot of snow.5:56There was more snow than5:57Are you a native New Yorker?5:59No, I'm from Boston.6:01Boston, the fish state. And I don't eat bacon, and I don't eat out of cans, I don't eat frozen.6:07Then it was in the news about the undertakers, they used to dig up the expensive caulkin and then take a wooden caulkin and drop them in and throw it back together.6:16We're getting on.6:17The peace.6:17All right, all right.6:33Mark! Quick, quick, quick, hurry up. One, two, three. This is God's gift from heaven.6:39I love this weather. It's the best writing there is.6:46All right, that was a lot of fun. We'll take a break when we come back.6:49You gotta stay tonight. Christopher Walken is here.
